The event “Certified Made in Italy: between sustainability and biodiversity,” organized by ITA0039 | 100% Italian Taste Certification by Asacert, as part of the eighth Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2023, was held in London on November 18 at Spitalfields Market, one of the oldest markets in London. It was the occasion for the presentation of the ITA0039 I 100% Italian Taste Certification certificate to the young entrepreneurs of Pizza Guys, who passed the audit with technicians from ASACERT, an accredited certification body in Italy and abroad, with numerous partners such as Coldiretti and Euro-Toques.
“To take away part of that 100 billion that are taken away from Italian production by Italian Sounding has become our mission -the comment of Fabrizio Capaccioli AD of ASACERT and creator of the certification protocol ITA0039- and we will continue, despite the blatant parochialism that often prevails in our country, to look at what is in the national interest, with our activities as a third, independent and accredited body. We will continue to certify those who have decided in the world to invest in our country- concludes Capaccioli- those who have decided to buy Italian agri-food products and those who want to continue to look at Italy as a driving force of universal culture, including through Italian restaurants around the world.”
Present at the handover was an exceptional testimonial, vegan chef Antonio Alderuccio, winner of the title of best pastachef in the United Kingdom. Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, president of the UniVerde Foundation, stressed the importance of spreading practices that support tradition, but take into account the most modern trends in food, while respecting biodiversity and supporting Italian production. “In London, Neapolitan pizza can also be naturally vegan. The young entrepreneurs and chefs of Pizza Guys, who combine tradition with digital and ecological innovation, have been valorized -Said Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, President of the UniVerde Foundation- The NoFakeFood campaign and also the campaign for Italian Cuisine Unesco Heritage, need certification and monitoring carried out by the best public and private companies in our country. It is essential that we address the fight against agropiracy that I initiated as Minister of Agriculture so many years ago and that continues to be an urgent and topical issue.”
